DIET AND EXERCISE

Trying to get into shape or lose weight? One great way is to diet and exercise. Many people tend to do one or the other but do not combine both at the same time. If you really want to lose weight and stay in shape exercising and dieting is the best way to do it.

Follow the food pyramid and stick with a healthy diet, yes I said a “Healthy Diet.”

This doesn’t mean don’t eat anything but a carrot stick a day or fast for two days straight. Look at what a healthy person should eat every day and go with that, unless your doctor has specifically told you to stick to a certain diet.

Skipping meals will not help you lose weight and keep the weight off. If anything it’ll catch up to you and when it does you’ll gain any weight you have lost. The trick is to do everything slowly. You can't do it all at once and be able to stick with it.Pick a healthy diet and exercise program that will work for you. Find a plan that you are comfortable with. You don't have to cut your calories in half to get started. Remember you will be burning calories with your exercise program.

Believe it or not having a support system can be very vital to sticking with your diet and exercise. Find someone that would like to try this with you. See if there is a club in your area that does this. You will get to hear stories others have faced and realize you aren’t alone anymore.

While diets aren't the answer for everyone. Along with an exercise program it can help in preventing obesity, diabetes and heart disease. If you have a family history with any of these you should get started right away on a healthier way of living, while it doesn’t always prevent it, it can help slow it down.

When it comes to changing your diet many people don’t realize one very important lesson. Eat 3 to 5 small meals a day, instead of the traditional 3 meals a day. This means breaking your meals into smaller portions. That should keep you full until the next time.

Most people will end up eating larger meals because they feel extremely hungry by the time the next meal comes around. When finished eating they tend to sit on the couch or head for bed. Instead try going for a walk around the block or walking on a treadmill.

If you haven’t exercised in a long time but decided that diet and exercise is something you want to try you should start off slowly.

Maybe 30 minutes a day on your exercise program and reduce the amount of calories you put in your body. Try to keep track of your calories by writing them down. Do you feel like 30 minutes a day is to much? If so start with 15 minutes and a lite workout. The most important thing is to just get started. To many times we start off doing to much and then getting burned out and quitting. Go slow, do what you can. This is not a race.

Diet and exercise does not have to be a chore.

It can be something you love to do, especially when you see the rewards. Imagine watching your waist slim down and you need new pants because they are too big. You may even want to save those fat jeans as a constant reminder of what your motivation is.

Tip 1: Before you start on a diet and exercise program you should consult your doctor. Whether it is one you are joining or something you want to do on your own. Your doctor will let you know if there is something that will work best for you. The doctor will know also some of the things you should avoid.

Tip 2: Drink lots of water, between meals and right before a meal. This not only makes you feel full but will help in flushing any toxins in your body. Water is neccesary for a healthy life.

Tip 3: If you are looking to get healthy, lose weight, or tone your muscles. It is important to follow both a healthy diet plan and an effective exercise plan.
