EXERCISE EQUIPMENT

A few wonderful things you can use around your house and lose weight or stay in shape is exercise equipment. Many people tend to think that it is expensive but it doesn’t have to be, in fact depending what you get and where you buy it you may get a great deal.
It can be either big or little, it can be a machine, a ball, weights, dumbbells or anything that you can use to exercise with. Before you go out shopping to equip your home there are few things you should think about it, your price, what you need and research.
Deciding on a Budget
This is very important when you are trying to buy any type of equipment for your home. You don’t need to purchase the top of the line equipment if you are just starting out. My first purchase was a set of interchangeable weights, weight bar and two dumbbells. I was perhaps 14 years old at that time (long time ago) and I think it cost around $50.00 at that time. That purchase got me started and my equipment grew from there. My point is you do not need to spend thousands to reap the benefit of exercise. Stay within your budget.
What do you need?
Many people rush to buy what looks nice and has all the bells and whistles. A lot of times when they do this they tend not to use it. Before going out decide what it is you are looking for. Exercise equipment can become expensive and knowing what you want and what you will use before shopping can save you a ton of money.
Research
When it comes time to shop for exercise equipment always do your research. Go online and check out the equipment and figure out what is best for your exercise program. Read some of the reviews on the product you are looking for and learn what the product is selling for. These are all very important things to know. Check the forums and don’t forget to see if anyone has any good deals on the item you are searching for.
Choosing which exercise equipment you want can be a tough decision since there are so many out there. But keep in mind what it is you are looking for. Three of the most popular are treadmills, exercise bikes or an elliptical machine. Each one of these can start off low and end up high in price, it all depends on what gadgets you are wanting on them.
Treadmills

A treadmill is a great piece of exercise equipment to have in your home. When it is cold and rainy outside you can still get your walk or run in using your treadmill. There are many styles of treadmills so check them out closely. The one my wife and I use has a top speed of 11 miles per hour at least that is what the read out says. I have yet to figure out how a human being can run 11 miles per hour. I purchased this treadmill from a husband and wife who purchased it to lose weight and ended up never using it. The purchase price was $200.00, way below what they paid for it. There are even treadmills that can fold up, which makes it great for storing them out of the way when company comes over.
Exercise bike

There are two different types of exercise bikes to choose from. One is a recumbent and the other is an upright. The recumbent is where you will sit with your back against a seat for support and legs out in front of you. They also vary in price greatly depending what you want on it.
Elliptical machines

This exercise equipment is very much like walking on steps or climbing a mountain. If you are having a hard time deciding between an treadmill or an exercise bike this may be the perfect thing. With an elliptical machine you are combining all of these movements in one, this is definitely exercise equip that will give you a workout. Although I would recommend anyone just beginning to exercise to go slow at first with this machine. It can get your heart rate up very quickly. You might even want to check with your doctor before using one.
If these are out of your budget range or starting to look a little too pricey. Think about going with the smaller exercise equipment, from weights to videos there is something you will be able to use. If you haven’t exercised in a while you’ll want to start small and build up as you feel comfortable. Bringing home 10 different items may only put fear in you as you’ll begin to feel that you can’t do it. Pop in a video and keep up, but make sure you start with one that is for a beginner. You’ll eventually advance to the next level and when you do you’ll feel great about it.
